June 02, 2018 – The Uganda Communications Commission UCC, has ordered Buganda Kingdom broadcaster CBS to stop hosting Mukono Municipality MP Hon. Betty Nambooze Bakireke and her Kampala Central counterpart Muhamand Nsereko from the popular Thursday evening talk show  Kiriza oba Gaana.

The duo have not appeared on the show that is hosted by Meddie Nsereko Ssebuliba for about one month now and the slot has now been allocated to Kattikiro Charles Peter Mayiga's office who  in turn has been sending his minister's to feature there under the jubilirewo celebrations.

Spear News has learnt that the order to ban the duo was instigated by junior tourism minister Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi and Kabula County MP James Kakooza who complained that the banned legislators torture them on the show and deny NRM a fair opportunity to be heard. They claimed that on some occasions, the accused MP’s even physically assault them but show host Meddie Nsereko lacked the capacity to control the two guests.

The show had become popular because of the lively clash of views represented by Nambooze and Nsereko as the dissenters and Kiwanda and Kakooza as proponents of the ruling party.

Nambooze only resurfaced on CBS on Tuesday May 29, when she hosted on a corporate program booked by CBS shareholder and Lubaga Division Mayor Mrs Joyce Ssebugwawo.

Mr. Kiwanda and the UCC were not immediately available to respond to the accusations.
