Rwanda kicks all Ugandans out of her big institutions
- Contracts of Ugandans in big institutions have been unconstitutionally terminated signaling a deteriorating relationship.
October has left Several Ugandans working in high profile positions in Rwandas private and government institutions unemployed-as their job contracts have been terminated under unclear circumstances reports online news ChimpReports
Among the victims of the worsening relationship between the two countries is Vivian Igunduura, who has been the deputy Managing Director of Cogebanque –Rwandas third largest commercial bank, whose contract termination notice came October with no reason or explanation or writ.
MTN Rwanda has also given the chuck to its Information Technology Audit/Risk Manager, a Ugandan named Beatrice Kibwika Kantono whose termination notice came verbally mid-September
The National Bank of Rwanda’s Chief Finance Officer a Ugandan named Ojongoro is another high level officer whose contract was verbally and unconditionally terminated this October.
RwandAir is also reported to have terminated 2 Ugandans contracts working in its Engineering and Finance departments.
A source that prefers anonymity informed this source that “everything is done verbally,” and, “No reason is given for not renewing the work permits.” He further adds that matter is handled at a “higher diplomatic level” to avoid worsening relations.
The Head of Public Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kampala, Margaret Kafeero said she was yet to receive a brief on the matter but insisted the two countries’ ties is “strong” and “cordial
