Jinja woman MP declares Jinja district a togikwatako area as Karuhanga returns 29m bribe
The Jinja woman MP Loy Katali has declared Jinnah district a togikwatako zone and referred Museveni to election results to gauge opposition strength in the area before expecting her to convince people to join his life presidency project
The NRM MP was explaining to a dozen of voters who stormed her home Tuesday demanding for a share of the 29m she was given to bribe voter to endorse the project.
She said she had used all the money to bribe voters in different parishes but they even refused to support the age limit removal with 90% insisting on Togikwatako
“Museveni has intelligence, let him use it to find out what is on ground, “Balobye” Go back to the [presidential election] results of 2016, they will tell you the position of Jinja… How many sub-counties did the he win against Besigye? Jinja is for FDC and you can’t expect a any YES” she resignedly explained
She castigated other NRM MPs for sitting back and not use the money given to consult people;
“They were given money, but they sat back and refused to move to people. They fear meeting them because majority are for Togikwatako”
In a related development the MP for Ntungamo Municipality Gerald Karuhanga has directed the manager of Centenary Bank, Main branch to return Shs29m meant for age limit consultative meetings to the government.
“While I was away, on the 24th October 2017 an in authorised credit transaction Ugx29,000,000 was effected on my account No. 3710000702, I hereby instruct you to transfer the said amount back to the creditor’s account.” Read part of the instructions
So far 11 Opposition MPs have returned the bribe money hidden under facilitating them to consult voters on the age limit constitutional amendment.
Ibrahim Semujju Nganda, William Nzoghu, Muwanga Kivumbi, Moses Kasibante, Mathias Mpuga, Angelina Osege, Medard Ssegona, Abdul Katuntu, Robert Kyagulanyi, Winnie Kiiza, Roland Mugume and Gerald Karuhanga have joined the fray
