The concealed torture opposition MPs faced at the parliament lobby

  • The lobby is a place between the house and the main exit where there are no cameras and not accessible to press.

It’s a week now since the memorable rape of the constitution by NRM MPs, in connivance with police/army, speaker Rebecca Kadaga and Museveni.

On 27th September parliament chambers were sieged by remnants of M23 rebels pausing as security officers from the president’s office an incident akin to court siege by “black mamba’s back in 2000.

A week on, two MPs Butebi Zaake and Nambooze Betty are still admitted nursing wounds inflicted on them by chamber raiders who to the disappointment of all Ugandans the Speaker conspired with and still defends

A week on Ugandans praise opposition for twice foiling NRM’s move to rape the constitution in their presence and accredit them for having fought for the rule of law in the country as Kadaga and NRM still shower in shame the most recent being adding sick hon Kabaziguruka to the list of MPs to face disciplinary committee while removing gun wielding Kibuule!

The mafias off camera terror

Prior to the siege, anti-age limit advocates had got credible information that NRM planned to beat-up and undress hon Nambooze and Ssewanyana.

After seeing the SFC enter parliament, It was decided that for protection, the two MPs don’t sit on the front bench and MP Kasibante, Kyagulanyi and Mpuuga were assigned duty to protect them. They were advised to escape the scuffle as soon as possible.

As soon as mercenaries entered Nambooze Moved out accompanied by Kasibante to the parliament lobby where they were later joined by Ssewungu.

This escape only played into security forces hands which had pre-planned torture in the lobby where there are no cameras and it’s inaccessible to journalists.

Unknown to the public, many of the plain clothed goons laid siege here waiting for MPs dragged from inside chambers. All MPs were first held hostages here, seriously beaten and tortured off camera before they were dragged to the waiting police patrols

Unconscious hon zaake was dumped by security operatives at the lobby where MPs were being held hostages

Hon Ssewungu, Kasibante and Nambooze lifted him taking him to hospital. At the exit, their captors lead by Kampala metropolitan commander ordered them back shouting “those are escaping, arrest them”

Nambooze’s doze

Mp Nambooze was grabbed from the back by about 6 security personnel comprising of 3 women and others she describes as men in ladies dresses and taken to parliament basement, with her hands tightly held from the back [kandoya style.] by man in dress

As she was dragged a News reporter named Akena captured the incident on Camera but when operatives saw him, they beat him up and destroyed his camera. Akena is one of the very many journalists whose gadgets were destroyed that day

While isolated at the basement, the security officer she describes as a man in ladies dress pressed his knee at her backbone, pulled her backwards and held her in that position as they tormented her.

“We are going to kill you in a way not even post-mortem will be able tell the cause of your death”

said the man holding her.

The ladies accused her of grabbing general Kuteesa’s army cape at parliament, declaring a ‘red ribbon’ revolution, leading opposition assault at parliament, continuously attacking Museveni etc

Nambooze said she experienced too much pain that she couldn’t talk, shout or fight back and when finally parliament police boss Ann Bella came to her rescue she could not stand up any more, so she fell on her knees

She was dragged from the basement to the waiting caged police pickup where she found MPs Mpuuga, Ssekikubo and Gulu DP MP Ojara who was accused of photographing the proceedings.

Before finally being taken to Kireeka, where according to bond papers she was accused of inciting violence [not mentioned where and how] and beating police [who in particular and where] they were recklessly driven around Kampala for over 2hours.

On reaching Kireeka, Nambooze couldn’t sit; hon. Mpuuga’s wife Maria a medic was first in with first aid but the situation worsened and police called in her husband

As the situation got worsen she was taken to Bugolobi health care where on examination she suffers a condition Lumber spine compression and disc prolapsed [dislocated backbone in lay mans language]

One week on, Nambooze is still hospitalized, only lies down she can’t stand up or sit straight. She is wanted by police while was denied any media coverage by government

Her message to  Ugandans is:

“They broke my back not my heart, they can hurt me physically but never can they hurt me  mentally—and I will get up from here” She promises
