Abel Rwendeire, ex-minister and Rubanda MP dead
The former minister and Rubanda country MP Abel Rwendeire has died.
The Makerere University Visitation Committee Chairman and Deputy Chairperson of National Planning Authority, has died of heart failure today [Thursday] morning.
Rwendeire was MP for Rubanda County East from 1996 to 2002. He at the same time served as minister of State for Tourism, Trade and Industry; Minister of State for Higher Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports (1996-1998 and 200-2001, 1998-2000) respectively
Before joining politics, he was the Principal of Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo (1992-1996) and Chairman of the Joint Admission Board (JAB)
At his death, Abel Rwendeire was the Makerere University Visitation Committee Chairman and Deputy Chairperson of National Planning Authority.
He joined NPA in July 2008 following his four year tenure as a Managing Director ( 2002- 2006) at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, (UNIDO), in Vienna, Austria.
