Terror as Museveni's police raid NGO-Action Aid offices


20 police officers have stormed Action Aid offices at 5:05pm this evening, saying they are under instructions to close the premises.


Police has besieged the Action Aid offices in the Kampala city suburbs of Kasanga. A top official at Action Aid told URN phone that about 20 police officers stormed their offices at 5:05pm this evening this evening, saying they are under instructions to close the premises.

The police officers reportedly took charge of the premises and stopped all employees from living before they started ransacking the offices. She however, says the officers didn’t tell them what they were looking for in the offices.


The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Emilian Kayima told SpearNews that he wasn’t aware about the raid, since he hadn’t been briefed.



Our efforts to contact Police Spokesman, Asan Kasingye were futile as his mobile was switched off.
