Prince Ssemakkokiro baptised as strange people appear around Kabaka
Although no Official statement had come out of the Buganda Kingdom, reliable information shows that Prince Ssemakkokiro was baptised over the Weekend.
Photographs of him cutting a cake circulated on social media. In the Photographs the Kabaka dressed in a blue and white stripped T-shirt and black trouser standing with two strange ladies were released together with those of the young Prince.
Although there hasn’t been any official communication about the matter some sources indicate that the Kabaka Ronald Mutebi the second took Prince Ssemakkokiro for Baptism at Namirembe Cathedral. The same reports indicate that the Kabaka was with the Queen of Buganda Sylvia Naginda and the two arrived at around 3:45 Pm in the afternoon.
At the same function Princess Ssangalyambogo Katrina was also confirmed in the Anglican faith and it was also reported that Ssemakkokiro’s Freind Bwaami Kaweesa was also baptised.
It is said that the bishop of Namirembe Cathedral Kityo Luwarira was there to receive them. Apart from Ssemakookiro, there are also two twins Jasmine Babirye and Jade Nakato also said to have been baptised together with Prince Ssemakkokiro.Details about the twins were not readily available.
Its not clear why the KABAKA chose to make the baptism of Buganda’s most treasured Prince a low key and only family function.
