Kenya elections. Electoral body ICT boss kidnapped
A deputy ICT director at the Kenya’s electaral body [Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’ has gone missing, the electoral agency’s chairman Wafula Chebukati revealed.
The IEBC said Sunday the ICT manager was last seen on Friday night.
“The last communication from him is an SMS text sent to one of his colleagues at around 3:00 am on Saturday morning. The content of the SMS suggests that he was conscious and fully aware of his itinerary for that day,” read the statement as reported by Kenya-Today
IEBC officials described Mr Chris Msando as a person with a critical role in the upcoming elections, he is a no nonsense processional who cannot be compromised.
Msando is well versed with the IEBC’s electoral system which has had several hack attempts.
In a tweet IEBC says they have joined hands with police in the search for Msando who is suspected to have been kidnapped.
Top NASA officials have expressed concerns over Msando not being provided with state security.
Mr Msando hails from Nyanza/Western region.
