Buganda-Bumu association donates mobile clinic to Kabaka

Buganda Kingdom has secured a modern self contained mobile clinic which will enable people receive treatment without the necessity to travel long distances.

This revelation was made Monday during the reading of the Kingdom’s budget for the financial year 2017/2018 during the Lukiiko session at Bulange today. The Buganda Lukiiko passed the Shs74 billion budget.

The mobile clinic housed in a Ford Airstream vehicle is a kind donation from Baganda’s in the diaspora under the ‘Buganda Bumu North American Convention’

The mobile clinic which is bigger than common passenger buses is equipped with a modern laboratory, treatment rooms, waiting rooms, and a theatre for minor surgeries among other modern amenities according to Bugandatoday.com

The ambulance has passed all America’s requirements for a standard mobile ambulance and it is already being shipped into the country

Once it is cleared by customs, the mobile clinic is expected to be launched by the Kabaka and who will order when it starts serving his subjects.

A lot of people don’t go to hospitals because of lack of transport. The mobile clinic powered by a V8 engine will go where people are instead of people going where it is. This will be cost saving for Kabaka’s people.

The mobile clinic will work alongside the available Toyota Land Cruiser ambulance which will handle referred patients to bigger hospital.

This announcement has come at a time when the Kabaka Ronald Mutebi had instructed Katikkiro Mayiga to include a water ambulance for the people of Ssese Islands in the financial year 2017/18 budget.
