Buganda region president and Mukono municipality Member of parliament Nambooze Betty has said that fallen former DP assistant secretary general Maria Mutagamba remained loyal to her party DP while she served in Museveni’s NRM.
Mutagamba joined Museveni’s government from DP in 2000 and has served in it in Mutagamba Maria she kept the green on
different capacities. Sources say she ‘uncomfortably’ served in it. Unlike many NRM’s she never put on yellow but dressed green on several official occasions
A DP elder who requested for anonymity confided into Spear News that though Mutagamba was in Nrm she silently funded DP activities and for a very long time she was the one paying rent for DP offices.
Nambooze who served with her at parliament concurs and testifies to this as she says:

“.. . . . Maria Mutagamba …..Even when Maria left DP, she remained a Democrat and couldn’t attack the opposition, many times she confided in others how she will never be at peace in Nrm….am one of the people who can testify about this….RIP.
