Kyadondo race: Number of voters shoots up by 4687

Kyadondo East voters have shot up by over 4687 as compared to last year’s registration according to the electoral commission register seen by The Spear news.


Registered voters now stand at 72818, much higher than 68131 that voted in 2016 elections, an upshot of 4687 voters.


The commission put this to voters that have shifted to new polling stations.


While meeting the presiding officers for all the parishes at Kasangati, Simon Byamukama the Electoral Commission chairperson highlighted that they have conducted proper preparations to avoid previous mistakes that led to the cancellation of the first poll results.


Confirming the polls, he said that the voting equipment will be transported from the commission offices in Banda  at 5am and  voting is expected to start at 7am in the morning  ending  at 4pm in the evening.


Kyadondo East comprises of 9 parishes with  93 polling stations . They include  Masooli which has 8 polling stations with 5763 voters, Kiteezi has 10 polling stations with 9630 voters,Bulamu  has 12 polling stations with 10138 voters, Wampeewo has 19 registered centers with 14520 voters and Gayaza with  13 polling stations and 10869 voters.


Additionally Kabubbu Parish  has 10 poll stations with 6869 voters, Nangabo has  7  stations with  4813 voters, Wattuba has  8 polling stations with 6399 voters and katadde that has  6 stations with  3817 voters.


Security has been beefed up  by  police  and regular army with tough warning  to supporters of various  candidates to refrain  from  chaos.
