KENYA: Al-Shabaab militants kill teacher in front of pupils, kidnap 2
Al-Shabaab militants stormed into Fafi Primary School, 60 miles from Garissa, Northeastern Kenya and shot dead a teacher, Elly Oloo Ojiema – right in front of his terrified pupils.
The militants kidnapped other 2 teachers, Joseph Kamau, and a colleague who tried to protect him reports releaseinternational
The Muslim teacher said to be of Somali descent was abducted as he tried to shield Joseph from being taken away.
‘We are going to teach you a lesson for protecting the infidels,’ He was reportedly told as he was carried away.
The militants also reportedly beat up Muslims of Somali descent at the school as a punishment for associating with Christians.
Al-Shabaab militants appear to have stepped up their campaign of violence in areas bordering Somalia in the past few weeks.
