Museveni Pins rampant crime and torture on Police

In a post Museveni made Friday after visiting Northern Uganda he Pinned high crime rate and torture on police. Talking about opposition and political parties Museveni said said “Belonging to different political persuasions should not be reason to wish others evil”.

Although some corrupt elements within the Police have impeded prevention and detection of crime, you can report crime to elected officials.

Spent the day in Kitgum District where I officially opened the Tumangu Nodding Disease Health Centre and the Irene Gleeson Foundation Maternity Centre.

Later, I officiated at the thanksgiving ceremony of Municipality MP Beatrice Anywar at Boma Grounds.

When we were fighting Kony, I was here and told you that we shall restore peace. I am happy this has come to pass. The entire country is peaceful.

The episodes of insecurity in this area and other parts of the country is crime not war, which we can handle easily.

This power is in your hands, and then they will work together with the police to sort out these criminals.

On infrastructure, we have tarmacked the road from Oluyo to Sudan border. We are working on the road from Lira to Kitgum.

All districts will soon get road construction equipment.

We extended electricity from Lira to Kitgum also to Lamwo. We shall increase the capacity of electricity when Agago dam is complete.

Most importantly, I urge you to work to increase your household incomes. That is critical in helping fight poverty.

Finally, I am glad I joined Hon Anywar at her thanksgiving after she survived three accidents. I wish her well.

Politics should not stop us form interacting on occasions like these. Belonging to different political persuasions should not be reason to wish others evil. We should instead work together.
