Head teacher arrested over defilement
Julius Mugarura, the Head teacher of Bukinda Primary School in Bukinda Sub County Kabale district is in trouble for defiling his pupil. He was picked from his hide in Kabale town on Saturday and locked up at Kabale Central Police Station.
Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says trouble for Mugarura started on Friday after when he took the 14-year- old pupil to his residence in Nyaruhanga cell in Kyanamira Sub County at around 2:00pm.
According Maate, residents became suspicious when they realized Mugarura had locked himself in the house with the minor for so long yet it was day time. They surrounded the house and raised alarm. Mugarura opened the house armed with a machete to scare the residents and fled into hiding.
Maate says the residents took the minor to Kyanamira police post, where admitted to have been defiled by the suspect. According to Maate, in her statement, the minor told police that Mugarura seduced her with promises of taking to her to Kabale town for a tour.
