You're eating our food, so you're our servant; Besigye tells Museveni

FDC’s former Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye wondered how Uganda can excuse herself over a drought for a year and call it a crisis? How can we be having drought when we have the biggest water reserve?”

Citizens are now beggars. They are saying ‘Tusaba Gavumenti Etuyambe‘. We don’t have security of what we produce. People in Ankole are also not doing well. Before we distributed food there, six people had been buried because of hunger.

Me being president when people have no ‘will’ will not change anything. Mr Museveni eats our food, drives our cars, sleeps in our house and he still has the arrogance to say he is not our servant.

We have embarked on a campaign against grabbing our land. All public land has been grabbed, including here in the city.

Dr Kizza Besigye also urged the Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura to resign because of the growing insecurity in the country.

“If the regime wants to salvage whatever is left of any care about this country, Mr Kayihura should be thrown out of office,” the former Presidential candidate said at a press conference in Kampala on Thursday.

It shall be recalled however that during the vigil of AIGP Felix Kaweesi, President Museveni after castigating the police force as having been inflated by criminals just cautioned Kaihura to clean his house(Police)

Besigye  however, said if Uganda had a stronger “political system in which people have authority, he (Kayihura) would have resigned or dismissed by the appointing authority.”
