Rwanda's Former President Bizimungu Passes On



Former Rwandan president Pasteur Bizimungu 67,has passed on today from California hospital. He was Rwanda’s first post Genocide President (July 1994-March 2000)


According to the sources, Pasteur Bizimungu, the fifth Rwandan president was secretly flown to the United States (US), after weeks of battling of yet to be disclosed illness. Former President Bizimungu, a Hutu ethnic was chosen to lead the tiny central African country of Rwanda months just after 100 days of Genocide, July 19, 1994 until March 23, 2000. On June 7, 2004 he was incarcerated after being convicted of charges of alleged inciting ethnic violence. He was only pardoned by the current Rwandan president, Gen. Paul Kagame.


Bizimungu was born in Gisenyi is survived with three children namely, Nicole Tamara, Carine Cyuzuzo and Alexander Tabera.
