Mbarara radio presenter hacked, robbed by policemen.
Mbarara residents live in fear allegedly caused by Uganda Police Force that had abandoned its role as a defender of people’s lives and their property to waging a war on citizens.
The Greater African Radio 98.3 Mbarara, Presenter Tugaineyo Pidson yesterday, friday sustained several cuts on head and he is now admitted in hospital after being attacked on his way to work at Booma.
According to him, “The policemen whose names he didn’t establish fully dressed in Uganda Police Force Combat way led him and hacked him on the head with a mission to to kill him“.
He alleges that the attackers were robbers who took his phone, some money and shoes then escaped, leaving him to die.
Ironically when the attacked went to report to Mbarara Regional Police Office, Officers refused to register his case or record the statement because he was naming police as the robbers.
Tugaineyo Pidson is currently admitted at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in private wing emergency section. Efforts to get police comment on this matter from police were futile as the regional police spokesperson couldn’t be reached.
