How Nambooze and Ssegona beat security to land in Masaka on 23rd

On 23rd, the MAKE DP GREAT AGAIN CAMPAIGN team in Kampala was informed that police had put several road blocks on Masaka road with the heaviest one being at Lukaya where Mbidde commanding from Tropical inn had ordered  the team should be stopped there such that they can claim victory that it didnt step in Masaka.

Since morning police checked all vehicle that crossed Lukaya, looking for Hon Nambooze. At around 10:00am the team met in Kampala and under police surveillance started off the journey with 4 vehicles, Hon Nambooze’s, Hon Ssegona’s Hon Mukambwe Lukonge’s and a coaster carrying supporters.

Before reaching Kayabwe, the coaster driver was told to proceed un-interrupted. At Kayabwe Hon Ssegona’s vehicle branched to the left Hon Namboozes to the right and the coaster continued un-interrupted with Mukambwe’s land cruiser cruising so fast in front.

That simple trick put the surveillance team out of action. After about an hour the team set off again, with Nambooze seated in the front seat of Hon Ssegona’s left hand drive car.

Expecting arrest the Masaka team led by Hon Mpuuga drove with a big team to Lukaya wait for the team from there. By the the team reached Lukaya there was some commotion and a very big number of people.

The car in which Nambooze sat in the front seat led the convoy. At the road block the police man looked for a woman seated in the drivers seat. The car being left handed he saw a man and waved them to pass. Once the first car passed the rest didnt wait for orders they just followed and the chase began.

It is said that the police office across the road had spotted Nambooze and made a sign to the duty office indicating she was in but the office did not see the sign.

The trend of police chase was that the two cars kept blocking police patrol vehicles as Nambooze’s car sped off.

When the vehicles branched off into village short cuts there was one realization,  people knew this team was in the area and unsolicited kept giving them directions and offered information where and how far police is and how they should avoid it.

Wars are fought by people not guns, on this occasion people power beat guns. To our security men, when citizens start fighting against you. . .. you know better what happened in 1986
