Rukungira police terror, 2shot dead
Two people have been killed by police in Rukungira as Police fired teargas and live bullets to disperse a crowd that had gathered to listen to welcome their member of parliament in Rukungiri town.
Heavily armed police blocked the area MP Roland Kaginda, from consulting with lo
cals on the
contentious TOGIKWAKATAKO on learning that Kaginda would be flanked by several opposition leaders including Col Dr Kizza Besigye.
Mammoth crowds wearing red ribbons chanted “Togikwatako” slogans as they marched through the town.

Edison Nasasira, a taxi operator, was shot in the head and died on the spot while another un-identified person died in hospital
For hours police battled with Besigye and his supporters who hurled stones as police officers fired live bullets. Besigye’s car was hit by bullets in the scuffle.
Kigezi Region RPC Denis Namuwoza said Ugandan was ‘hit by a stone that killed him instantly.
However during the shootout, the commander was heard telling officers “don’t finish the bullets” while an officer replied “Eyange Ttekuba” [mine doesn’t shoot].
After killing one of them they carried the body around town while singing the national anthem and shouting “This is not Kampala”
