Museveni, top East African president salary earner-triples Magufuli
Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli is the least paid of all the East African presidents, Museveni the longest serving East African dictator triples his salary
All the Presidents have campaigned on the platform of reducing the wage bill while most have promised to cut their salaries but few have lived to their promises.
Given the massive allowances and favors African presidents get, one wonders why they even get a single salary.
Below is how much each of the leaders earn.
Museveni: UGSh 53,996,579 OR 14,978.65 USD)
John Magufuli (Tsh. 9 million OR 4026.87 USD)
Paul Kagame 63,618 USD)
Uhuru Kenyatta KSh1.4 million (13,539.67 USD)
East Africa’s longest serving dictator, Yoweri Museveni came into power in 1986, and he earns salary that more than triples other East African countries which have bigger economies than Uganda.
Rwanda President Paul Kagame assumed office in 2000.
Kenya’s Uhuru Kenyatta took office in 2013.
Tanzania’s Pombe Magufuli came to power in November 2015 becoming the 4th Tanzanian president as Museveni is still in power
